We had an awesome group that went to Ukraine this year!
We saw God work in many different ways.
There were times when we thought we weren't going to be able to come because of the water situation, but God worked it all out:)

I could go for some chai right now!!

Jana and Allison with their crazy hats.
All's well that ends well:)
| I've been trying to follow the World Cup lately. Unfortunately, I don't think soccer is as popular in the U.S. as it is in Europe and South America. I'm not really sure how Ukraine is doing. I just know that Germany is a big favorite to win!!

Deutscher Fussball-Bund
On a different note, I finally realized how soon I will be leaving for Ukraine!! I have been waiting to go back ever since I stepped off the plane last year. I'm ready for some camp food:)
P.S. If any of you have time, check out this very good worship musician: www.purevolume.com/jasonmorant

Some random graffiti downtown by Spaghetti Warehouse.
I don't know if the "artist" meant for the graffiti to have a deeper meaning, but it is always good to open our eyes and see all the people/things God has blessed us with.
| I just got back from a crazy trip with my highschool choir. It was one of the most chaotic trips I have ever been on. We left really early in the morning and while we were changing into our tuxes the lights went out in the school. So after changing by the light of our cellphones we came to realize that our bus wasn't there. We sat in the choir room for two and a half hours waiting for the bus. The bus finally came and we got first place in the competition, thankfully. On the way back, the cabin of the bus started to fill with smoke and we had to stop on the side of the highway and get off the bus. It turns out we blew a gasket and the back of the bus started to catch on fire. So after the police, fire department, and mechanics came, not to mention an hour of us sitting on the guardrail, we finally got to go home.

" We must understand the distinction between the role of music and the role of faith in drawing near to God. Music has many benefits. It moves us emotionally. It helps us to reflect on, remember, and be affected by the truth. However, apart from faith resonating in our hearts, we are no closer to God when we sing than when we wash dishes or do homework.
Ultimately, this means that as I seek to exalt God, I place no value in my own efforts, enthusiasm, talents, intelligence, background, repentance, or desire, no matter how strong or weak I may be in any of these areas. Rather, my confidence lies in the faithful character of God, the perfect sacrifice of Jesus on my behalf, and the trustworthiness of God's promises. This is worship fueled by faith."
-Bob Kauflin, in a recent issue of "Worship Matters."
